Northcote Electorate

The state electoral division of Northcote, which shares its name with the suburb of Northcote, takes in the postcodes of 3070, 3071, 3078 and part of 3072. It is one of 88 seats that make up the Legislative Assembly of the Victorian Parliament.

Bordered by three waterways, Darebin Creek, Merri Creek and the Yarra River and Bell Street to the North, the Northcote Electorate is home to a diverse and multicultural community of around 65,000 people.

Long before Parliament existed, the traditional custodians of this land, the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin nation, nurtured this land and continue to do so today.

Our local area is enriched by the histories and culture of our diverse residents. We are built on the many struggles of the Aboriginal, migrant and working class communities who have called the Northcote Electorate home.

Today the suburbs of Northcote, Thornbury, Fairfield, Alphington and Preston are a vibrant mix of creativity, culture and community activism.

With its incredible parkland, shopping precincts, restaurants, cafes and vibrant arts and culture scene, the Northcote Electorate is truly an amazing place to live.

I am immensely proud to be representing our community in Parliament - a community that I’ve been a part of my whole life. I look forward to working together with you, our local residents, to build on our strengths and make our suburbs an even better place to be.

Suburbs: Alphington, Fairfield, Northcote, Preston (south of Bell Street), Thornbury.
