Fairfield Primary SchooL

Stage 2 & 3 Upgrade and modernisation

Investment: $7 million
Status: Completed

Fairfield Primary has been upgraded as part of the Andrews Government’s plan to increase the capacity of schools in the 3078 postcode.

Combined with the upgrades at Alphington Primary School, its the equivalent of a brand primary school for the local area.

As part of the plan I joined the Minister for Education, James Merlino, to announce the $7 million of funding in June of 2019. This funding will complete Stage 2 and 3 of the school’s plan.

With brand new facilities being constructed at the Wingrove St site adjacent to the existing school, Fairfield Primary’s total enrolment capacity will increase by 200 students. The Wingrove St site will cater for senior students, with classrooms for Years 5 and 6. The existing buildings on the main school site will also be reconfigured and refurbished.

You can follow the progress of the amazing works as we update construction progress below -

Stage 1 upgrade and modernisation

Investment: $2.5 million
Status: Stage 1 Upgrades - Completed

As part of the of the State Budget delivered in May 2016, the Andrews Government announced funding for the planning of Masterplans for selected schools across Victoria, including Fairfield Primary.

The $2.5 million, Stage 1 of the School’s Modernisation was completed in 2019 - I was delighted to officially open the new buildings and plant a tree with the help of some of the students (pictured below).

You can also view the video of when I rose in Parliament to speak about the occasion.
