The Northcote electorate is proudly home to an incredible small business community and amazing workforce who are doing it tough at the moment – to keep our friends, families and community safe.
That’s why we are backing our local business and workers with a range of financial and other supports.
During the peak of the pandemic last year, the Victorian Government delivered a $1.7 billion Economic Survival and Jobs Package to support those who were hardest hit by the pandemic. Now we are delivering more support for those who need it most.

Victorian Government Grants and Support Programs - A range of Victorian Government financial and other supports are available to businesses across Victoria. For the most up to date information about available supports, it is worth checking the Business Victoria website regularly.
Victorian micro-businesses and sole trader business owners can access assistance with applying for this payment through the Business Victoria Concierge Service on 13 22 15.
JobSeeker and other payments - If you have lost employment, the Federal Government’s JobSeeker allowance is available. You may also wish to check if you are eligible for other Commonwealth support payments. For more info - click here.
Working for Victoria - If you are a job seeker in Victoria, you are invited to register your details on the Working for Victoria site to access new work opportunities. For more info - click here.
Jobs Victoria Fund - This $250 million fund is providing wage subsidies to assist businesses to employ people affected by the economic impacts of the current pandemic. For more info - click here.
Creative & Live Music Industries - Information about current and upcoming funding, grants and resources specific to creative industries can be found on the Creative Victoria website.
Individual support - A full list of support available to individuals can be found here, including support for international students. Local Emergency Relief – There are a number of local organisations who provided crisis support in our area, including food relief. For a full list of available local support services you can head to the Ask Izzy website.
Utility relief grants - If you live in a low-income household or are experiencing hardship, you may be eligible to apply for a grant to help with overdue electricity, gas and water bills under Victoria’s Utility Relief Grant Scheme. You can find out more here.
