As the State Member for Northcote, I’ve been working with Homes Victoria to build 99 new social homes at Oakover Road in Preston. Read on to find out more about this vital project.
Every person deserves to live in a safe, secure and comfortable home. That is why we’ve built more of them, right here on Oakover Road in Preston.
The Oakover Road redevelopment project is now complete, transforming what was previously 26 outdated homes into 99 modern, high-quality and energy-efficient homes for our local community.
Located just 9 km northeast of Melbourne’s city centre, the new housing is conveniently positioned close to public transport, community services, jobs and shops. It’s exactly where new homes should be.
The homes are fully accessible and completely gas free. Residents also have access to a unique community gallery and a beautiful rooftop terrace. And there is onsite housing support staff to assist them.
The project has successfully delivered 99 social homes and 78 market apartment homes, with a remaining 119 market homes expected to be completed by late 2025.
