I rise in support of the Public Health and Wellbeing Amendment (State of Emergency Extension and Other Matters) Bill—and in support of the Victorian Chief Health Officer having the tools he needs to steer Victoria out of this crisis.

The action that I am seeking is that the Minister for Industry Support and Recovery update the house on the number of businesses that have been supported by the government’s support packages.

What progress has been made by Darebin Council to put in place appropriate planning controls for the north side of Heidelberg Road?

There is no doubt that this has been a school year like no other for students across the state and in my home electorate of Northcote.

What opportunities are there for local sports clubs in my community to leverage state government funding in order to benefit from our infrastructure program?

The action that I seek is that the minister assures my community that open space will be created between Oakover Road and Bell Street as part of the removal of four level crossings in Preston.

At its heart this bill is about fairness—fairness to the far too many Victorians that have found themselves on the wrong end of wage theft.

What is the latest information on what the government is doing to ensure our live music industry recovers and rebuilds from the impacts of the coronavirus pandemic?

I rise to pay tribute to the people of the Northcote electorate, and to recognise and thank them for their incredible resilience and compassion in the face of the hardship the coronavirus pandemic has brought to our doorsteps

Not including workers that have not been with the same employer for more than 12 months in the Jobkeeper payment affects so many people in my community, but it also affects so many of the businesses disrupted by this health crisis.

Collectively, our state, our nation and indeed our world are facing the most extraordinary and far-reaching challenge we ever have faced. No Victorian has been left unimpacted by the coronavirus pandemic. This bill provides some measure of certainty in a hugely uncertain time.

I am pleased to contribute to the North East Link Bill 2020, which forms a vital piece of a very exciting plan, and that plan is for Victoria’s transport infrastructure future—a plan that will see this city and this state prepared for the next century and beyond.

My adjournment matter is for the Minister for Transport Infrastructure, and I ask that the minister provides my community with an update on the latest information on the level crossing removal project at Preston.

It was so wonderful to be able to attend the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup final at the MCG on International Women’s Day. It was even better to be able to watch our Aussie girls take home the trophy, defeating India by 85 runs.

My constituency question is to the Minister for Disability, Ageing and Carers, and I ask: what is the latest information on what the state government is doing to support people with disabilities to access local parks?

It gives me great pleasure to speak on this bill to amend the National Electricity (Victoria) Act 2005. It is a bill that enables Victoria to continue delivering and indeed ramp-up our delivery of reliable, affordable and clean energy for our state.
