Today I rise in support of the Disability and Social Services Regulation Amendment Bill 2023.

I am pleased to be able to rise today to speak on the Building Legislation Amendment Bill 2023.

I rise to congratulate the Cyprus community of Melbourne and Victoria on their wonderfully successful Halloumi Festival over the weekend.

I ask the Minister for Mental Health for information on how the Northcote mental health and wellbeing local will be delivered to cater for the unique needs of my community in the inner north.

I wish women right across Victoria a very happy International Women’s Day today.

It is an honour to stand here as part of a re-elected Andrews Labor government to represent Northcote once again. In doing so I recognise that long before our Parliament existed, the lands and waters we now call the inner north were nurtured and protected by the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin nation, and I reaffirm the Labor government’s unwavering commitment to walking alongside Aboriginal Victorians on the road to treaty.

My adjournment is to the Minister for Mental Health. I ask the minister to arrange a briefing for me with her department to discuss progress towards finalising Victoria’s new eating disorder strategy and delivering our first residential treatment centre for eating disorders.

This week the Andrews Labor government took an important step towards ensuring better health outcomes for Victorians with the opening of Australia’s first dedicated heart hospital.

I rise to speak in support of the Health Legislation Amendment (Information Sharing) Bill 2023.

I ask the minister to meet with me to discuss how the government can make it easier for renters and low-income earners to access the benefits of more energy efficient homes.

My question is to the Minister for Public Transport, and I ask for the latest information on the major public transport upgrades underway in the Northcote electorate. Last year I was proud to let my community know that the Andrews Labor government will invest in much-needed upgrades to both the Merri and Thornbury stations. We will deliver improvements like new boarding ramps, new tactile ground surface indicators and upgrades to the PA system and CCTV.

I am deeply honoured to stand in this chamber representing the electorate of Northcote for a second term. I thank the wonderful people of the inner north, and with renewed energy I reaffirm my unwavering promise to them: to work each and every day to deliver real outcomes for our community.

My question is to the Minister for Environment, and I ask: how will the Victorian government’s ban on single-use plastics directly benefit constituents in Northcote?

The action I seek is that the minister join me in my electorate of Northcote for the official opening of Preston South Primary School’s brand new facilities.

Could the minister please indicate what kind of benefits Victorians, including constituents in my electorate of Northcote, can expect to see from the government bringing back the SEC?

It is with pleasure that I rise to speak in support of the Disability Amendment Bill 2022. As my colleagues have noted, this bill delivers on Labor’s commitment to promoting and protecting the rights of over 1 million people with disability who call Victoria home.

Together we have achieved so much. We have delivered upgrades and improvements at every local school, modernised our transport networks, opened new public health services and built critical social housing.

Born out of necessity in a time of crisis, outdoor dining and parklets have been embraced by Melburnians, including in my electorate of Northcote

For almost four years I have pushed for an increase in services for infants, parents and families in the inner north.
