Alphington Primary SchooL

stage 1 & 2 upgrade and modernisation

Investment: $14.1 million
Status: Construction Underway

Alphington Primary is undergoing a major upgrade as part of the Andrews Labor Government’s plan to increase the capacity of schools in the 3078 postcode and address growing student enrolments.

Stage 1 of this project is delivering a new competition grade gymnasium, music room and three-story learning centre as well as the refurbishment of the art room, classrooms in the heritage building and landscaping.

The construction of the learning centre has recently been completed and students are starting to experience the benefits of modern, accessible, fit-for-purpose facilities.

In November 2021, I was excited to announce that the next phase of this project is getting underway with the appointment of Plan Group Pty Ltd builders. This second stage of the project will include a new two-story administration building, library and staff rooms.

Combined with the upgrades at Fairfield Primary School, these projects are the equivalent of a brand new primary school for the local area catering for an additional 400 students.

Check out the progress of this incredible transformation below!
