Building Better Support For Northcote Families
The Carroll Labor Government is bringing support closer to home and making life easier for families.
Labor’s new Northcote Early Parenting Centre (EPC) is one step closer, with designs now released.
Once open, the service will provide free specialist care for families with children up to four years old.
The EPC is designed to feel like a home away from home for parents and carers when they need it most.
It will feature 10 overnight units so families can stay together.
Consulting rooms, a shared kitchen, dining areas, a playroom and various outdoor spaces will also be included.
Families attending the centre will be able to access support and programs for a range of issues, including:
sleep and settling
parent-child relationships
child and family health and wellbeing
strengthening parenting confidence.
Demolition and site preparation at 30 Green Street are now complete.
This work paves the way for main construction to start on the new centre soon.
The new Northcote Early Parenting Centre will be operated by Tweddle Child and Family Health Service.
Labor is investing more than $196 million to upgrade and expand the EPC network across Victoria.
Once Northcote is complete, this network will support an additional 8,000 Victorian families every year.
