I have incredible news - we’ve secured funding for a major upgrade at Wales Street Primary School in the Labor State Budget!
Over the last four years, I’ve worked closely with Wales Street Primary.
Together, we articulated the case, advocated within government, and built support to deliver the modern facilities this fantastic school needs to support our growing community.
Today, our Victorian Labor Government confirmed that we’ll build a brand new multipurpose gymnasium, a dedicated library, and modern classrooms at Wales Street Primary!
It’s a major investment - and I know it means so much to our community.
Wales Street families will finally have an indoor space to bring the whole school together.
A place where students can learn new skills, perform creative works and celebrate the big moments.
More comfortable classrooms and new facilities for the outstanding teachers to expand how they deliver high-quality education.
A real investment in public education and the futures of local children.
This outcome has been driven by an extraordinary community effort.
Principal Robyn Owens and the School Council did a power of work preparing our submission. More than 1,000 local residents backed the campaign. And Wales Street students spoke clearly about why it matters.
With a shared vision and positive sense of purpose, we’ve secured a brighter future for generations of Wales Street families. Our student advocates should be especially proud today.
