I'm immensely proud to announce that a re-elected Labor Government will invest $7.87 million to redevelop Northcote Primary School's two-storey learning building, creating modern, fit-for-purpose spaces for students and teachers!
Northcote Primary is a wonderful local school, with dedicated educators and a passionate school community committed to giving every child the best possible education.
When Principal Shaun Wells and the Northcote Primary School Council came to me with their vision for improving the school's learning facilities, I was determined to help make it happen.
Together, we put forward a proposal to transform the existing two-storey building into more usable, fit-for-purpose classroom spaces that better meet the needs of students and educators.
Now, we've secured a $7.87 million commitment to bring that vision to life, with student learning, aspiration and wellbeing at the heart of the redevelopment.
It's about giving our teachers the facilities they need to do their best work, and ensuring every child has a learning environment where they feel supported and inspired.
This commitment builds on the significant improvements already delivered at Northcote Primary.
Our previous $3.16 million investment modernised the school's main building, created a new entrance, extensively refurbished Blocks A and C, and upgraded essential services.
Those works made an important difference to the school's facilities. This new commitment will continue the modernisation of Northcote Primary.
Since I was first elected, I've fought for better facilities at every school in Northcote, and I'm proud that every single one has received an upgrade.
Together, we've achieved the biggest modernisation of our local schools in decades, delivering new classrooms, libraries, gyms, performance spaces and specialist learning facilities.
Only a Labor Government makes these investments. And as your Labor MP for Northcote, I can deliver them.
