Hi, I’m Kat Theophanous - the Labor Member of Parliament for Northcote in the Victorian Legislative Assembly.

New Northcote Early Parenting Centre One Step Closer

The Allan Labor Government is delivering care, closer to home for families and parents in Northcote.

Minister Horne today announced a contractor has been appointed to deliver the next stage of construction of the new Northcote Early Parenting Centre (EPC).

City Circle has been appointed to demolish the current existing buildings on the site.

These early works will enable main construction to commence.

Located at 30 Green Street, the EPC will offer specialised support for parents with children up to the age of four.

Families will be supported with expert advice and care when they need it most.

EPCs offer programs to strengthen parenting skills and support child and family health and wellbeing.

The centre is designed to feel like a home away from home and will feature 10 overnight family units.

Consulting rooms, a shared kitchen, dining areas, a playroom and various outdoor spaces will also be included.

Families attending EPCs get support for a range of issues, including sleep and settling support, parent-child relationships, and strengthening parenting confidence.

The new EPC will be operated by Tweddle Child and Family Health Service.

The Labor Government is investing more than $196 million to upgrade and expand the EPC service network in Victoria.
